Let's Talk: Social Media

Good Morning (or night or afternoon, wherever you are, whenever you read this)! This post / email is for those who want something fun to read. Hope you stick until the end!

Social media is the thing that many younglings of society, as well as the adults are involved in these days. Today, I will be talking about my experience with social media. And yes, I am a clueless little duckling when it comes to the media. And I mean, I am completely inept at utilizing the thing in every way.

I’ll start off by saying, I am at an age where I should know how to use social media. In fact, a lot of people my age are obsessed with the thing. But I am unable to. I don’t know why, but I have no clue how and why I should use social media. Yes, I watch YouTube, but nothing much other than that. I guess I’m a loner or something, but um…what’s LinkedIn, and why is it considered a social media? Or maybe I just live under a rock. Either way, I have no clue how to use social media. It is to the point, I will not be surprised if I have the same ability in terms of using social media as a boomer (then again, the standards are high there. Boomers are very awesome and intelligent beings).

Now, you might scroll down and say, “wait…but you have Instagram”. Yes, I have Instagram. Yes, I have a lot of social media accounts. Do I know how to use any of them? …Hmm. Nah. Plus, I barely have friends that talk to me so…eternally a social media boomer (please message me so I can say I have someone to talk to at least 🫠). It might also be because I’m a self-centered person and don’t care about what goes on in other people’s lives, and maybe I have a commitment problem, which negates my ability to be addicted to social media (yay me). Either way, check out my Instagram. I post…sometimes 😇.

When I first got Instagram, I found myself scrolling through contents, then I realized I don’t care about what’s happening in other people’s lives, and that was a waste of half an hour. That was the end of scrolling through social media mindlessly (I still do that with YouTube, but…you know). I mean, I have better things to do, like watching random YouTube videos (…social media cough cough), watching Anime, reading Manga or books or, well, admittedly, most of my time goes to writing random things (lol). And anyone asking about Twitter, what is that? Just kidding. I just don’t have an account, so I automatically know nothing about how it operates ☺️.

Social media, I realize, is not necessarily a good thing nor a bad thing—-it just depends on how you use it, and why. For me, currently, I use social media to learn a wide variety of things (AKA the world of YouTube can be educational), and use social media to post random things that I find able to post for the whole world to see. I believe my use of social media is more on the business side of things, though there are exceptions. Come to think of it, I should say that I was on social media when someone asks what I’ve been doing (my time disappears when I write, and I’m too reserved to admit that I like to write). They would probably believe it. How convenient.

In terms of accounts, I have a gmail (message me if you wish), Instagram (as mentioned before. DM me if you wish), and a Pinterest (that I have no idea of how to use. I also don’t check it at all, but I posted some poems if you want to check that out. I mean, you’d have to find it first but…um…I don’t know if the poems are good so you don’t have to check that out. If you still want to, good luck). I also have a photography account on Instagram, that’s mentioned in the bio of my main account, so check that out if you’re interested 😉.
